KAI DIVE

Guy says…..A wise diver once said "if the vis is good the diving will be fun". Never a truer word said. We were lucky enough to have the best inner Sounds vis I have seen. A good solid 15m everywhere and patches in the deeper water of 20m… if you squint a little. Reminded me of the tropics, where that sense of weightlessness with a view, is enough to call it a great dive. And the scallops were there to be hovered up by our resident scallop hound Georgie. Speaking of hounds, we also had a Crayhound (not the same as a Greyhound… but just as lanky) on board. Took the team straight to the spot! Great weekend.

NO SCALLOP IS SAFE WHEN GEORGIE THE SCALLOP HOUND IS ON THE PROWL

Last weekend was the first of our club Kai-dives, with not a wreck in site. It was drier in the water on Saturday than it was out due to the persistent rain, even though it was wet both bottom side and top side, the diving was great and we experienced up to 20 metres vis at one of our regular dive sites. Proof that no matter what the weather, you are guaranteed  good vis some where in the Sounds.

The Sunday forecast was for little wind and plenty of sun, so we reversed our weekends diving plan and dived the Outer Sounds on Sunday, we headed out to Water Fall Bay and checked out our sea caves and picked up just a enough crays for everyone to enjoy a nice meal.
