Warm Diving Thoughts
Tomorrow promises to be the 7th heavy frost in as many days and with so many frosts, shaded parts of Picton are starting to to look like the deep south with perma frost in areas that don’t see the sun.
Lucky though it doesn’t last long and before we know it the scallop season will be hear and spring just a step around the corner. Go Dive has a pretty busy schedule ahead over the next few months, specially with the opening of our new location in September, so look out for an opening party weekend.
Here’s a list of dive trip and course dates for the next few months and a bit of info on our proposed overseas trip next winter.
July 18/19 Scallop dives 4 spaced still available
August 8/9 Club Port Gore Wrecks & Scallop Trip
August 27 to Sep 3rd PADI Instructor Course
Sep 12/13 Shop opening and dive party details to come.
Starting the first weekend in October and then finishing the first weekend in November, we will be running a Club Rescue course, this will run over the two respective weekends. If you are keen give me a call or email and I can let you know the price and organize to get the rescue manual to you so you can start a bit of pre-course study.
I have had a few club members talk to me over the past year about doing an overseas dive trip. I have had a bit of a look around at the options and think that Vanuatu is a good proposition, initially I thought about going to the Solomons to dive the deep wrecks, but general opinion on this idea was it was a bit specialized and because of the location a bit expensive.

Vila, in Vanuatu is a far better option, easier to reach, good reef and wreck diving and plenty to do for the non-divers who want to come along. Proposal is to schedule a trip late June or July next year for around 10 days away. Let me know if such a trip interests you, along with what month and length would suit best and I will come up with a package, early indications it will cost around $2600.00 for a 10 day excursion.

The frosts got to much for Andrea who has just last week headed off to Hamilton Island in Aussie to take up a sailing and instructor position, and yes she even took her dry suit with her. All the best and no doubt we will see you back when the frosts thor out.
Safe diving and have a good week.
