A GREAT DAY ON THE LERMONTOV

With the weather being a bit off lately, we took the opportunity of a "weather window" to head out for the day to dive the Mikhail Lermontov. Conditions were perfect with not a breath of wind felt until we headed home late in the day.

BUOY OVER THE MIKHAIL LERMONTOV WRECK SITE

The aim of the dives for some were to complete a few orientation dives in preparation for future expeditions. Rigged with twin cylinders we visited the engine room, Bolshoi lounge, props, damage and pool. With a 50 minute bottom time we ended up with 22 minutes of decompression on our last dive, but it was well worth it with pretty good visibility, no current and toasty warm Drysuits.

Even though we have to be a bit more selective during the winter to what days we head out, it is well worth the effort as calm conditions and good visibility can make for a  experience.

June 13/14 are set aside for another wreck weekend, with 4 places left at this stage. Also keep an eye on the blog over the next few weeks, I am just putting the final touches to a new product that involves the Lermontov. I think you will be impressed.

Safe diving
