PICTON FORESHORE DEVELOPMENT
After years of consultation and endless expense in employing designers to come up with a workable solution to Pictons Foreshore and Tourist Center, work has finally started. These are exciting times for Picton, there’s no sign of the recession here.
Aim is to have the new facilities up and running by October, ready for the summer. Existing Water Taxi and Adventure business have relocated for the time being, with one or two new operators taking advantage of the new facilities and moving in when the time comes.![]()
The new area will be open plan with plenty of space for the public to move around in and will be an extension of the already very popular and beautiful Picton foreshore and beach.
Weather this weekend looks a bit dismal, with the forecast talking of snow down to 800 metres in some parts of region, I am glad I live at sea level. Looks like Inner Sounds diving again, advantage of the changing season though is better vis.
Some of us head off on overseas dive holidays to warmer locations. Steve and Georgie, Dive Club Marlborough members are off to Rarotonga next week, lucky buggers. Have a good time guys and watch out for this big fellow at Sand River.
