Weekend Weather

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Well the weather has certainly turned it on over the last few days, with the second biggest high in the world parked right over good old NZ.

Local conditions are near perfect with 6 metres plus vis on the Koi and at the Fish Reserve, unfortunately we haven’t been out to the Lermy this week, but I can imagine with this great weather the conditions are pretty good their to. A few big weeks coming up with trips and training so will keep you posted on Lerm and Outer Sounds trips.

Weekend weather looks like it is going to hold and we can expect the same tomorrow with Northerlies increasing to 30 knots in the Outer Sounds and the same for Sunday. So head on out tomorrow morning for a dive on the Cape Jackson side and then over to Tory side for a cray or two on Sunday.

Congrat’s to Lara who just finished her PADI Open water course today.

Lara completes her final O/W exam in the informal atmosphere of our floating lecture room.

MID WEEK UPDATE

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

The weather today was to say the least, a bit chilly, however the visibility on the Koi and Fish Reserve was great. Today was the first day for our current PADI Open water course, students enjoyed their very first breaths underwater while in the company of our friendly Blue Cod.

Yesterday we dived on a new site on Arapawa Island and even though a little barren we found some good patches of Jasons Nudibranch, a huge school of Blue Moki, an anchor and a brand new cod pot (full of carpet sharks), plus plenty of Blue Cod. (to smart to be in the pot, who said Blue Cod were stupid)

Our Easter weekend is filling fast, with one boat all ready full for the Underwater Egg hunt on Sunday, don’t worry though we have the other two boats avalaible, so let me know soon if you are keen to splash. There will be some good prizes if you find the right egg/s.

The TDI Advanced Nitrox and Deco Procedures course is now full, if you are keen on expanding your knowledge and skills in this area, I will put you on our mailing list for the next course. Watch out for the ER course coming up soon.

In early September Go Dive have a PADI Instructor Course scheduled, already we have 4 confirmed candidates and will accept another 2, so let me know if you are keen. Run by the regions only PADI Course Director with 20 years of Instructor Training experience, you will find this a very rewarding programme.

Only 4 more weeks to we move out and start on our new shop so if you are looking for some kit then give me a call, I would rather sell stock than pack it in a box and put into storage, so I am in the mood to offer some good deals. For instance Ladies Cressi Facile wet suit $230.00, Apollo 7mm Mens wet suit $325.00, Mens Lontra wet suit $425.00, new Cylinders from $375.00, 100cm rail guns from $200.00. Give me a call on 0800 GODIVE if you are looking for a bit of new kit and a deal.

Grab-a-Dives this Saturday x 2  for $35.00 each, 2 local dives (Current Club members only). Call me on 0800GODIVE or email to book, weather looks like it is going to be good from tomorrow on, so come out and play.

cheers Brent
